American Precision Arms sets a new standard for premium scope rings with the Gen 2 Tru-Loc series! The vast majority of scope rings on the market today are made from either steel cast, MIM, or aluminum. Steel scope rings can cause the host rifle to become top heavy and unbalanced, while cast and MIM rings often have unseen voids and weak points that lead to breaking after extended use. The Gen 2 Tru-Loc Rings on the other hand are precision machined from 7075 T6 aircraft grade aluminum, a material with twice the strength of 6061 aluminum – this gives the Gen 2 Tru-Loc Rings outstanding durability and a long service life. In addition to their unmatched strength, the Gen 2 Tru-Loc Rings incorporate an innovative latch design. Most scope rings on the market attach to the picatinny rail with a side latch that cams onto the underside of the rail. While this method works for the most part, level of repeatability is dependent of torque which leads to a loss of accuracy, and the lack of direct tension on the rail causes this design lose its strength over time. The Gen 2 Tru-Loc Rings however applies tension directly to the rail’s mating surface, allowing the scope to be mounted in the exact same position every time regardless of tension.
